CBT Sessions
“The secret of achievement is to hold a picture of a successful outcome in the mind.”
- Thoreau
The therapy dynamic is a special relationship between a coach and a client. It requires high levels of trust, commitment, understanding, communication skills and problem-solving abilities. The CBT therapy is an ongoing process helping people to develop and enhance a solution-oriented mindset, helping clients to identify and achieve personal goals.
What happens during a CBT session:
Assessing the client’s needs
Setting up goals
Identifying the steps that are best suited for the client’s circumstances
Overcoming barriers
Reaching the goal(s)
A CBT therapist will support their client to overcome his/her mental barriers for achieving success and performance in any aspect of his/her life. These will be achieved by working with the client’s self-awareness, responsibility, norms and values.
There are no timescales for when a client can reach his/her goal, and results depend on the complexity of the issue plus skills and commitment.
The benefits of CBT are: reducing stress, increasing performance, increasing motivation and good mood, achieving goals and performance.
